Supercell is currently testing their fate once again with their new game Boom Beach. It has been dubbed by so many experts and gamers as something negative knowing that the game in essence is quite similar to Clash of Clans. Why would they compete to their own game? Isn’t it a bad marketing strategy for them? Honestly, we ca not answer that question right now. Who knows in the future? What is known right now is the fact that thisi game Boom Beach is probably a lot more attractive to cash users because it requires less in-app purchases than that of Clash of Clans.
Released late last year 2013, Boom Beach probably was among the top anticipated games among mobile users especially knowing SuperCell and how it made Clash of Clans a world wide phenomenon. Just like its sibling, it is also sporting a Free-toPlay model which I think SuperCell has been so successful of. But the major difference that is easily noticed among players is that the setting of the game is more of a modernly themed in contrast to Clash of Clans’ kingdom like scenery. Graphically wise, I personally think this game also is quite better, but of course gameplay is pretty similar with a little twist here and there to entice gamers to play.
But as far as my understanding of the game is concern, I am quite baffled of what really is and what will be the plot of Boom Beach as the game will progress. Do not get me wrong on this, I know the goal of the game is just as simple as liberating the enslaved islanders in the archipelago. With that you simply will get the needed resources to build your own base or island to survive subsequent enemy attacks. To put this into perspetive, you are required to build and fortify your base but in order to do that you also need to create a strong army to attack and win for you.
If you are wondering why SuperCell created such game, then I ca not answer you that. But one thing I know of is that they are after of probably getting a new game that will serve as successor to Clash of Clans when the time comes that its player base gets bored of playing it. With the rumored $5 Million per day of revenue, you can’t really blame SuperCell for doing it. Unfortunately, one major disadvantage that I hope Boom Beach will have one day is that it lacks the social integration that Clash of Clans has. Otherwise, this is a perfect game to kill some time.
